How is this run different? This run is special because it is at Pinkerton and involves tons of colorific powder! Join your friends, family, and silly acquaintances on a one mile run. It doesn't matter how fast or old you are, but instead, getting up on the start line to get covered in color and contribute to a great cause - our school!
The Color
The Pinkerton Elementary Pinky Hustle course will designate different parts of the course color zones in which large amounts of color will be blasted upon you! The different colors are 100% natural and safe.

The Post Race Dance Party
At the end of the run, prepare to cool down at our dance party. We will have food, music, and fun on the Pinkerton fields. Stick around, celebrate your accomplishment, and most importantly, have some fun!
There will be prizes given for a variety of categories, the most anticipated? BEST COSTUME! So grab your friends and start planning!
Where is the race?
We will begin and end at Pinkerton Elementary and run/walk/crawl/hop/skip/jump like crazies through the school field and around the campus. A map of the race course will be available shortly online and will also be included in your race packet the day of pick-up.
When does the race start?
The one mile race begins at 6:15 p.m. We ask that racers line up at the start line in order of pace; this would put walkers toward the back. The times will be set by grade level. Parents run with your children.

Do I need to enter my Olympic qualifying time to run this race?
If you run that fast we might not be able to get the color on you! This is a really laid back run/walk/crawl/hop/skip/jump with the focus on having a blast with friends and exploring color theory! So relax, don't wear a watch, we won't time you (unless you really want to and we will count out loud while you run).

Once I register, do I get anything cool?
Participants will receive a Pinkerton Elementary Pinky Hustle race shirt and a bag of color. And color packets will be handed out at the completion of the race. Tshirt pick-up will be available at Pinkerton during the following times, as well as on race day afternoon:
Do you donate to a good cause? You bet! ALL proceeds from the Pinkerton Elementary Pinky Hustle will go towards the students at Pinkerton Elementary!
Can children who don't attend Pinkerton participate?ABSOLUTELY! Children who are able to walk/run the 1 mile may participate - just sign them up accordingly, and a guardian over 18 must sign the waiver.
What about jog strollers?Yep! Kids under 5 are free! But if they want a Pinky Hustle shirt, make sure to pre-order one when you register. The cost for the shirt is $5.
My dog is my running partner, can he/she come? No, dogs are color blind and would really miss the point.
Will the color ruin clothes or running shoes? The "color" does mostly wash out after the event. As with anything dirty, the sooner you wash it, the better. We suggest wearing items that you wouldn't mind getting colorful. If you would like to preserve the color in your running shirt after the race, spray it with vinegar and iron it before you wash it.
Does getting bashed with color affect runner vision? Or breathing?
The color explosions are basically food grade cornstarch and are 100% natural and SAFE. As with any substance, you want to keep it out of your eyes and our Color Exploders make sure to aim low as you pass by. Some runners opt to wear glasses or goggles for their eyes and use a bandana for their mouths. Even though we aim low, the wind does carry the color.

How does the color affect the inside of cars?
Most people bring some towels for the inside of their cars, just in case. It's like driving home from the swimming pool in your swimsuit.
Will there be medical support staff?
Yes. We will have a first aid tent on site at the event.
Are there any post-race activities?
Of course! After the race, come mingle with us on the Pinkerton lawn for good food, great music, and hang out with your Pinkerton friends!
