I have exciting news!
Our school has been selected to join the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas and The Cooper Institute’s Healthy Zone School Program!
This program is designed to recognize schools that have excellent health and to support schools looking to improve health programming. Schools are invited to participate in the program for three years after going through a competitive selection process. School selection is based on the school’s physical activity programs, nutrition policies and health education and services.
Schools are eligible to receive $6,000 over a three year period for physical education equipment and/or health and nutrition related materials, and activities!!
Healthy kids have 1) better academic performance, 2) better attendance and 3) better behavior.
Teaching kids healthy habits in school, where they spend most of their day, can help them make the most out of their time in school. I will be sending out helpful hints, celebrations and even healthy recipes in our newsletter and our Pinkerton Facebook page.
Together we can help families lead healthy, responsible lives.
